Usually, dads get a lot of flack when it comes to dancing at family events. This dad shows that it doesn’t always have to be that way all the time.
Jessica and her family had been having an amazing Bat Mitzvah. All of her family had gathered to celebrate her becoming a woman.
Overall, the day was going so well, but there was only one thing that would make it perfect.
Jessica wanted to share the dancefloor with her dad, since she was the apple of her father’s eye.
The father, named Mike, had known that Jessica was an enthusiastic dancer for a long time. But he had always been awkward on the dancefloor, and not just in that lovable fatherly way.
That’s why Mike had taken dancing lessons in the weeks leading up to the Bat Mitzvah, without his daughter knowing. He knew that he could give his daughter a surprise on this special day.
So Jessica and her dad got on the dancefloor.
The pair did a typical rocking back and forth to My Girl by The Temptations at first.
The daughter thought that this was as exciting as the dancing with the father was going to get. But then, she got a surprise when the next song started playing.
Jessica tried dancing a little more enthusiastically, but the dad shook his head. This was the cue for his routine to start.
When “It Takes Two” by Rob Base and DJ E-Z started playing, that’s when the dad and daughter started to move perfectly in sync to the beat.
Since the dad had seen Jessica dance to this song plenty of times before, he knew exactly how to emulate his daughter’s moves.
Then, the song then switched to Mambo No. 5 (A Little Bit Of…) by Lou Bega. When the lyrics “A little bit of Jessica” came up, the dad pointed to his daughter, and Jessica went with it, swaying to the music.
The father and daughter then clasped hands and started quickly mamboing to the song, with the dad even spinning Jessica at one point. By now, his daughter must have been more than happy!
Then, when the song switched to Gangnam Style by Psy, I’m sure we all know how they danced to it.
ABC by The Jackson 5 started playing just a little later, and the dad and daughter showed off some disco moves.
Then, Pokerface by Lady Gaga came on. The irony was that Jessica hadn’t read her father’s pokerface when they took to the dancefloor!
Medley, the song kept on playing, and the dad and daughter duo kept on performing amazing dance moves to each song.
My Girl came back on once more in the end, and the dad and daughter took up their classic waltz-like dance one more time.
Mike and Jessica bowed and then hugged while the crowd cheered them.
But the people who were present weren’t the only ones that thought that their dancing was wonderful.
Ever since Mike uploaded the video onto YouTube just after the Bat Mitzvah, it has since become a huge hit. The performance has gained over 22.2 million views and 28,000 likes to date.
We’re pretty sure that Mike and Jessica must be amazed that so many people adore their dance. They probably to dance at every family event from now on!
This girl is so lucky to have a father who does something like this for her!
