We love illusion. Magical. We love it even more when it is paired up with life as we know it.
There are so a lot of things in our world which are magical, and however we, as humans, tend to look past them.
The love of family, the company of animals, the hug of a friend, and with that being said, how about the connection of a dad and his daughter? Or even more precisely, daughters?
Every dad has dreamt or even dreams of having a son one day, undoubtedly. Someone to carry the family name and produce heirs and all that. But a daughter is priceless. She is his princess, his diamond, a treasure to guard until one day, a brightly deserving knight comes along and proves himself to deserve her.
There are many mythical creatures to slay and he has to prove himself to be worthy of her hand.
Well, Russ and the three of his daughters, Sophia, aged 6, Brianna, aged 12, and Sioned, aged 20, have played out such a perfect and wonderful act to the father-daughter relationship set to Steven Curtis Chapman’s “Cinderella”, that you won’t possibly see a dad and his daughter the same way ever again.
Watch the lyrics to the song,
“Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don’t wanna miss even one song
‘Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she’ll be gone”
It talks about the stages of a young girl who grows into an amazing with her father looking at her, and it is just heartwarming. You’ve been warned.
Russ captures all of it with this wonderful act. Make sure to grab those tissues.
The first part bebins with Sophia. She is beautiful and undoubtedly the youngest princess.
Her part captures the very beginning verse of the song which says,
“She spins and she sways
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I’m sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders”
She is 6 years old and doesn’t have any worries in the world. She has got her father and that’s all that‘s important.
A little ballroom here and there and the people present in the pybluc break in to applause and the song just begins tugging at your heart strings.
Russ carries Sophia away from the public and from the left side Brianna enters.
She dances alone in the beginning and goes on with her the charm of a teenage girl who, while trying to figure out the world, still needs her dad to be there in order to show her the ways of life. Russ is all to happy to help her. He dances with her and sways with her until life’s storms pass them by and we tell you, it is simply magical to see.
Russ will not miss one song and dance surely.
“Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
“Dad, the wedding’s still six months away
But I need to practice my dancing. Oh, please, Daddy, please?”
This is the part which managed to get the audience cheering. Sioned finally comes out. The “woman” who is about to face a new life but is still unsure. And for one last time, needs her father to show her life. A part of life through dancing.
The dad is portrayed as the immortal knight and king in armor.
This is something that every dad can find relatable.
No matter if you have one daughter or three or more, this captures the essence of what a dad is to his daughter and he will always be her go-to-man whenever life gets rough, or when it couldn’t get better. Watch out, gentlemen. A dragon is not what you have to face.
That finale is the definition of “perfect”.
