After their daughter’s rare and inoperable brain tumor disappeared for reasons doctors are unable to explain, a family from Texas is thanking God.
Reports tell us that last June, Roxli Doss, a 11-year-old, that comes from Hays County, Texas, was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) after suffering from symptoms including headaches, nausea, and double vision for some time.
The tumor is described as highly-aggressive and difficult-to-treat by The Boston’s Children Hospital website. DIPG is located at the base of the brain. Needless to say, Roxli’s outlook was miserable.
Scott Doss, Roxli’s father, explained: “It was the worst news we could have had.”
“At Dell Children’s, Texas Children’s, at Dana-Farber, at John Hopkins, and MD Anderson, all agreed it was DIPG.”
Furthermore, one of Roxli’s doctors at Dell Children’s Medical Center, Dr. Virginia Harrod, agreed that his patient’s disease was extremely rare and uncommon.
“It is a devastating disease. You have decreased ability to swallow, sometimes vision loss, decreased ability to talk, eventually difficulty with breathing.”
“We don’t have a cure. This is considered a terminal diagnosis.”
After 2+ months of fervent and faithful prayers for healing from this community and across the country, GOD HAS ANSWERED…
But even with that said, the young girl underwent 11 weeks of radiation therapy to fight the tumor. To help cover the costs of the medical bills, her family established a GoFundMe Page.
Then, after that, there wasn’t much for her loved ones to do. All they could do was turn to God. The parents knew there was a high chance that they could lose their daughter to cancer, so Scott and his wife Gena prayed to the One and Only.
Beads of Courage…. Rox was excited today to get to pick all her beads!!!Each represents something different… radiation, mri, blood draws, hospital stays, etc…. Her story is good, God is good!!!
“The doctors guide us, but really the true guidance that we’re looking for is from God because that’s who we need our help from right now, and we’re really just praying for a miracle,” said Scott.
The doctors were left stumped by what happened next. In September, after An MRI scan it was revealed that Roxli was cancer-free. The girl’s tumor had completely vanished.
“When I first saw Roxli’s MRI scan, it was actually unbelievable. The tumor is undetectable on the MRI scan, which is really unusual,” Dr. Harrod confirmed.
And Roxli’s parents are more than sure that their daughter got rid of this terrible disease only by the help of God.
“God is using precious Roxli as a vessel for His mighty power! REVIVAL is springing up in hearts everywhere!” Gena Doss wrote on social media.
To make sure all cancer cells are eradicated from her brain, Roxli is now undergoing precautionary treatments such as immunotherapy – a treatment tailored to help the body fight cancer.

This is what Dr. Harrod said in a statement to Global News: “We are cautiously optimistic and will continue to monitor her on a regular basis along with the joy of celebrating in her recovery”
